There’s always only to be inspired by artists, architects, and interior designers. I in fact always try to keep track of their work, both for private growth and for a hunt of ideas. There’s nothing better than to be filled with wishful inspiration when planning to renovate or redesign or redecorate any space. That is why today I am presenting you with my list of TOP 5 interior designers in Europe right now.
Nothing feels better for me than to be sharing this inspiration of mine with you, and I am sure that you will agree with me that every single one of them is a must-follow. If not, I am always open to new impressive ideas and new sources of creativity.
First on my list of must-see Interior Designers is Studio KO. Founded by Karl Fournier and Olivier Marty, this is the impressive studio that recently put the cherry on top the new Musee Yves Laurent Marrakech… making it their own. In the same place, they had their debut, designing villas for the Agnelli family and Hermes. Now they have the well-deserved, exclusive honor to be designing Balmain and Andre Balazs’ new Paris luxury hotel.
Fruit of Amanda Levete’s genius, winner of the RIBA Stirling Prize. These interior designers’ outstanding repertoire boasts works for the London’s V&A museum, the Lisbon’s MAAT museum, a subway station in Naples and buildings for Oxford University. She also added her personal touch to the flagship store of the Galieries Lafayette in Paris. AL_A‘s work is unique and exclusive, and in my humble opinion easily distinguished by her fascinating use of ceramics.
Recognized by big names such as Chloe, Balmain, and Emilio Pucci, interior designer Joseph Dirand is a romantic minimalist. I honestly have a lot of feelings for his work, as I feel he and I might have a lot in common. He learned architecture and interior design through the lens of his father, a renowned interiors photographer. His impressive portfolio enlightens us, with the opening of the Surf Club at Four Season Miami Beach, where he reinvented and brought back to like an authentic luxury Prohibition-era club, and a soon-to-be-opened space in New York for celebrity restaurateur Joel Robuchon.
The designer behind the magical spaces of the exclusive Mulberry flagship store, a holiday house in Ibiza and a penthouse in London, Faye Toogood has yet to give up her passion for fine art. Her interior design style is indeed magical, earthly, symbolist, refusing to be caged in a specific time or current. She now creates and designs installations, objects, and interiors for Comme des Garcons.
Tino Zervudachi & Associates
Advocate of minimalism and open-space design, these interior designers truly puts an effort in fighting overdesign and maximalism. Although often far from my personal tendencies, I am a particular fan of Zervudachi & Associates‘ work and of their Hydra house specifically.
