Snow is finally falling in some parts of the world, and as this signals the beginning of winter it also reminds me of something else. Winter is the season of spas. Of relaxation. Evenings inside at home, in front of the fireplace. Of what the Nordics have for some time now called hygge and mysigt. And talking about spas, there is one that has been in my dreams for many years. And that has stayed there even after I went there. This is why the first snowflakes falling to the ground have such a relaxing connotation for me, reminding me that I will soon – once again – be visiting the Icelandic luxury winter spa, Blue Lagoon.
About Iceland’s Luxury Winter Spa Blue Lagoon
The Blue Lagoon
The Blue Lagoon is surely one of Iceland’s must-see attractions, and it’s worth every single rumor about it. Its luxury Retreat program grants you a private section of the lagoon and private quarters. For four full hours, you can enjoy the full spa menu, including the luxury winter spa Blue Lagoon’s ritual: a magical combination of silica, algae and mineral treatments. From €207, you get an unforgettable and luxurious memory.
The Retreat Hotel
Another way to enjoy this magical place and the luxury winter spa Blue Lagoon, is through the Retreat Hotel. I personally adore its design, so modern and clean – especially characteristic of Nordic, minimalistic countries. From €1.611 per night it is in fact possible to enjoy the stay in the amazing and uber-luxurious and elegant Moss Suite and its private balcony. One more chance to fall in love with the Icelandic idyllic horizon and view of the volcanic rocks. A view you will want to go back to every winter, with the fall of the first snowflakes.
