Alexander McQueen: Is It Really Luxury? I’m sitting in my hotel room while writing this, and I notice that outside is almost half as warm as it was only a couple of days ago. That in Florida was in fact a short stay, and I am already back to my dear London. I’m so fond of this city – for various reasons. Big and at the same time intimate, hectic but composed. Maybe it’s because it reminds me a bit of myself. Making the most of everyday, anywhere in the world. Making the most of my passions and my work. But also always seeking the comfort and privacy, to feel at home no matter where I am.
As I mentioned before, though, one of them is undoubtedly its Made in Britain luxe and pride. I’m staying at a different hotel this time, and I think that once I’ll show you which one, you’ll love it just as much as me… yes – I know I’m being a teaser. But you know, few things in life excite me like nicely designed luxury hotels. The reason I’m writing this post, though, is different. I realised, this time in fact, that I am in the city of the late and unforgettable fashion designer Alexander McQueen.
Alexander McQueen (SS19) in London
As I am a lover of British luxury, I could not help but feel so touched when the latest Alexander McQueen fashion show, at London Fashion Week, displayed a deconstruction of classic menswear. Perfectly re-interpreting my love for timeless and classic fashion and design. I had to go and visit their flagship store in London and I was obviously left mesmerised. So much that I immediately felt the need to take something back with me. And I am not even referring to the store, but to Alexander McQueen himself.

I was so enchanted from what I had seen. So much that I decided to purchase a rug with his designs, as well as the McQueen Pendant lamp designed after him. His dark but romantic aesthetics, that still resounds in his brand today, left me thinking about him even on my way back to the hotel.
Hotel 41 in London
I am in fact staying at Hotel 41. TheHotel 41, rather. Voted n’1 hotel in London and in the United Kingdom, this 5 stars hotel probably occupied the best spot in the city. A marvellous hidden gem that overlooks Buckingham Palace. Namely, Her Majesty’s residence. An honour to be waking up to this view and thought every morning. But you don’t know me well enough if you think that’s why I chose this Hotel for my stay. Selected by Forbes as one of The World’s Most Luxurious Hotels, its chic black and white design is world-famous. A theme running throughout the whole hotel and its suits. Multidimensional and timeless.
The best place to choose to feel at home in, although away.
Hotel 41 truly is a hidden gem.
